Germany may halve work visas for the Western Balkans

Germany's government is discussing cutting the work visa quota for Western Balkan citizens from 50,000 to 25,000 permits a year, with changes possibly taking effect in 2027. For Serbia this is sensitive: thousands leave to work in Germany each year, including drivers, construction workers and medical staff. No official decision has been made yet
