From today adults in Serbia can get a seasonal flu shot with a trivalent vaccine made by the domestic producer Torlak. The vaccine has been distributed to health centres across the country. It contains three strains — two type A and one type B — in line with the World Health Organization's recommendation based on year-round monitoring of the epidemiological situation. Torlak produced about 300,000 doses following the recommendations of Serbia's Institute of Public Health. Vaccination is especially advised for older people, those with chronic illnesses and people with weakened immunity, because flu can lead to severe and sometimes fatal complications.
