Professor Aleksandar Valjarević of the Faculty of Geography at the University of Belgrade has been included in the list of the world's top 2% of scientists published by Stanford University and the publisher Elsevier for 2026.
He ranks 105,614th on the annual list and 1,887th in meteorology and atmospheric sciences. The list includes 152 scientists from Serbia.
The ranking is based on citations, h-index, hm-index and the author's position in scientific papers. Valjarević works on geographic information systems, remote sensing, climate change, hydrology and river systems.
