The International Monetary Fund has raised its forecast for Serbia's economic growth in 2026 to 3.3%, half a percentage point above its previous estimate. For 2027 the fund expects acceleration to 4%.
In the second quarter of 2026 the economy grew by 3.8% year on year, after 3.2% in the first quarter. The World Bank has also improved its estimate, to 3.1% for 2026 and 3.7% for 2027.
Services, retail and hospitality are expected to contribute most to growth in 2027, partly through preparations for Expo 2027 in Belgrade.
