About 180 kilometres of motorways and express roads have been built in Serbia over the past two years. The figure appears in campaign material of the ruling United Serbia list.
The routes were opened in stages and include bypasses and access roads to industrial zones. Some sections are not fully completed: works continue on parts of them and traffic restrictions remain in force.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for 25 October. Infrastructure and road construction remain among the main campaign themes, alongside wages, pensions and prices.
