NIS has filed a new request with the US Treasury for a special licence that would allow it to continue operating after the current permit expires on 30 October.
The request stresses the company's importance for continuous supply to the domestic market and that regular operation of the Pančevo oil refinery is crucial for Serbia's energy stability.
NIS also thanked domestic and foreign institutions supporting efforts to keep the company operating without disruption.
