At the Niš University Clinical Centre, 146 doctors in specialist training received a salary increase for on-call work for the first time.
Since October their work, engagement and responsibility within on-call medical teams have been paid separately. The change followed a September decision by the Health Ministry approving a health workers' union initiative to bring pay in line with the Labour Law.
Increased salaries were paid for October.
