Large halls
The biggest concerts take place at the Belgrade Arena — a multi-purpose hall with more than twenty thousand seats, hosting world tours and sports events. The second-largest option is MTS Dvorana, formerly the Trade Union Hall in the centre: the stage holds several thousand people and hosts concerts, festivals and ceremonies. Sava Centar is a congress centre with a large hall, where orchestras and pop artists perform and big conferences are held.
Mid-size halls and theatres
Classical and chamber concerts are held in the halls of the Belgrade Philharmonic, the National Theatre and Madlenianum, the oldest theatre in the city. The Academy of Arts and music schools put on free or very cheap evenings, worth attending if you want live music regularly at little cost. Tickets for such halls are usually sold on the spot, and seats remain even on the day of the concert.
Clubs and small stages
Rock, indie and electronic music live in clubs and independent venues: Dorcol Platz, Bitefartcafe, Klub Akademija, Dom omladine and the Student Cultural Centre. Local bands and mid-sized foreign acts play there, and ticket prices are a fraction of those for large halls. Such places often have no seat numbers and no dress code, but they have a live atmosphere and an audience that comes for the music.
Summer stages and festival sites
In summer concerts move outdoors: the Kalemegdan fortress, the banks of the Sava and Danube, parks and inner courtyards. Festival stages are built for the event and then taken down, so the programme has to be checked for specific dates rather than a permanent address. Some summer concerts are free and are announced a few days before the performance.
How to buy tickets
Tickets are sold through ticketing services and venue websites, as well as at box offices. For popular concerts it is better to buy early: major tours sell out weeks ahead and prices rise as the date approaches. With an online purchase the ticket arrives by email or in an app and usually does not need printing. Refunds depend on the organiser: some events allow returns, most only resale, so it is worth checking the terms before buying.
Practical details
For big concerts at the Arena and Dvorana, arrive early: security checks take time and parking around the venue fills quickly. In the centre it is easier to walk or take public transport, which has been free in Belgrade since 2025. In clubs payment is often in cash or through a local app, and a card terminal is not always available. And check when the concert ends: night transport in the city runs, but intervals are longer than during the day.
